What is SHAREs Novela for Breast Cancer Awareness?
SHARE’s Novela presents an illustrated story written in Spanish to raise awareness about breast cancer among Latinas. This type of publication is well-known in Latino communities. The Novela features Ivette and several other characters as they discover the facts, dispel the myths, learn about diagnosis and treatment for breast cancer, and discover how to form beneficial partnerships with their physicians. In learning how to communicate with doctors and pay attention to their breast health, they develop knowledge and habits that improve their personal health as a whole.
