What is Shabbat like at UGA?
Every week, many students join together for student-led Shabbat services. Hillel hosts a FREE Shabbat dinner for UGA students almost every Friday evening, after services. The Shabbat committee often plans themed celebrations that include: Kabbalah Shabbat, Fiesta Shabbat, Interfaith Shabbat, and more. Some students choose to come to services and meals. Others may only attend services or only join their friends for a Shabbat meal. In addition, we offer students the opportunity to host their own Shabbat dinner in their dorm or apartment – paid for by Hillel. Fraternities and Sororities are also invited to host a Shabbat dinner for their members also paid for by Hillel.
