What is SETI@home and where can I get it?
SETI@home is a distributed computing project that was started by a team of individuals at U.C. Berkeley back in 1999. It was started to help find possible radio signals coming in from intelligent life elsewhere in the universe. To date nothing has been found but the project has done calculations, with the help of all of us, that it would have taken one PC over 1,000,000 years to accomplish. There are currently over 4,000,000 members contributing their computer’s idle CPU time to this cause. If you would like to become a member of SETI@home and, hopefully, Team Art Bell you can get the client from: BOINC SETI@home.
