What is Serialized Key Control?
Serialized Key Control (SKC) is a method of controlling restricted keys by marking each key blank with a unique serial number. Serialization allows restricted key blanks to be stocked and authorized at a limited number of distribution locations. Once the blanks are turned into cut keys, the serialization allows them to be tracked at the users facility with a spreadsheet or key control software.
