What is Serial Port Memory Technology (SPMT™)?
SPMT is a new memory interface architecture that employs a serial interface architecture as opposed to the parallel interface architecture commonly used in current memory offerings. This new architecture enables much greater bandwidth flexibility while also offering significantly reduced pin count, lower power demand, and overall system cost reductions. The first target for SPMT is use in Dynamic Random Access Memory (DRAM) chips.
