What is secure messaging?
Secure Messaging is a tool that allows you to communicate online with our Customer Service representatives, and if applicable, Case Managers or Providers, in a private, secure environment. Unlike e-mail, the messages you send never leave the BCBSRI system and can be accessed by only the intended recipients.
Secure Messaging is a filter built into The Message Center network that scans every email for specific terms or formats. If there is an email sent that contains sensitive information, the email is automatically moved to a secure section of the sever and a link is emailed to the intended recipient to view and respond to the message through a secure browser connection…thus the secure message never leaves the network in clear text over the internet. This allows your organization to function “as usual” while automatically filtering every email filtered for secure information.
