What is Seattle City Lights order of restoration during power outages?
City Light’s main objective during a power outage is to get the electricity restored as quickly as possible to as many customers as possible. Our crews work first on restoring large electrical hardware that serves many customers, such as substations and feeders, secondly on transformers that serve streets, and then on individual houses. We place considerable emphasis on restoring electricity in critical cases, such as to life support customers and hospitals. With the cost involved in outages for industrial and large commercial customers, we make every attempt to get their lights on as quickly as possible as well.
