WHAT IS SEASIDE CHAPEL DOING IN “JERUSALEM” FOR JESUS SAKE?
First, let me state the Biblical importance of the local church in reaching its Jerusalem and then I will tell how Seaside Chapel is trying to reach our Jerusalem. THE LOCAL CHURCH IN THE BIBLE God’s plan for reaching the world with His loving message of salvation, according to the Bible, is through the local congregation. The local congregation is the spiritual family into which His children are “born again.” The local congregation is where nurturing, training, discipline, worship, giving and evangelism takes place. We can see the importance of the local congregation in the New Testament. The local congregation is where God placed the ministries of “evangelist,” “apostle,” “prophet” and “pastor-teacher.” The local congregation is the keeper of the Word of God, as it is said, “the pillar and support of the truth.” The local congregation is the sending agent for church planting and missions.
