What is Scouting in Mpumalanga doing around HIV/Aids?
Scouting in Mpumalanga has many programmes and projects that address the various issues around HIV/Aids. Most of our children here are affected in some way by the pandemic. Scouting has a moral responsibility to do whatever is possible to prevent the spread of HIV Aids as well as to protect our youth. In March 2006 a group from Germany called Sinothando visited Mpumalanga Scouting and did projects with Rovers in Mpumalanga as well as visiting a Scouting High School in Kanyamazane and working with the teenagers there. We thank them for their input and support for Scouting. http://www.sinthando.kingnebu.de Ongoing projects in the Area are named below We want to Know! We want to NO!: Every Scout in Mpumalanga works through the national programme on HIV/Aids. This programme teaches the Scouts to say no to things that give them a no feeling. Once they have completed the programme each Scout receives a red ribbon Aids badge to wear on their uniforms. More valuable information about the topic
