What is scientific glassblowing?
Scientific glassblowing is the process of making glassware by heating pre-formed glass pieces and then shaping them when the glass is soft. The glassblower uses a plastic tube and a cork to blow into the glass piece being formed so it can hold its shape. The glass is then annealed (heated to high temperatures and allowed to cool slowly) to help reduce stress in the glassware.
