If a school that receives Title I funds does not make AYP for two consecutive years in the same subject and grade, the school will be identified for improvement. We use Title I funds to support our reading programs in every one of our elementary schools. If any of our elementary schools were identified as needing improvement (i.e., did not make AYP for two consecutive years), then parents in that school would be able to request a transfer to another elementary school in the district.
