What is Scalp Eczema?
Eczema affects people in different forms, with one of the most common being scalp eczema. The scalp is particularly susceptible because the skin of the scalp is different from the rest of the body. The scalp has a very rich supply of grease and oil from the sebaceous glands and the hair follicles. Eczema of the scalp belongs to a kind of Eczema called Seborrhoeic dermatitis. Seborrhoeic Eczema is a common type of Eczema that affects the greasy parts of the body such as the scalp, eyebrows, the corners of the eyelids, inner cheeks and sides of the nose. These areas are commonly referred to as the T-Zone of the face. Apart from this, the other common sites are the insides of the armpits, as well as the upper back and chest.
