What is Sant Mat?
Sant Mat, which literally translates as the path of the saints, is a centuries old spiritual path, which encompasses all aspects of spirituality at many different levels–from leading a life in the world to higher spiritual experiences ultimately leading to reuniting of the soul with the Creator. At its heart is a powerful meditation practice, ethical living and the guidance of the living spiritual Master. Sant Mat is a path of positive mysticism in which we remain in the world, in our own society, culture, and family and, to the best of our abilities, fulfill our duties and responsibilities along with developing spiritually. Becoming a student of Sant Mat does not mean converting or changing one’s religion or one’s clothing or customs. One should remain in one’s own religion and culture while practicing meditation.
