What is salmon aquaculture’s contribution to global seafood production?

Salmon is Canada ’s most important farmed species, accounting for 75% of the volume and 81% of the value of the industry in 2002. Atlantic salmon and chinook were the predominant salmon species farmed in British Columbia by 103 active grow-out sites. In New Brunswick , Atlantic salmon was farmed by 68 active grow-outs.
