Salieri’s song from the movie Amadeus is Aspasia’a aria “Son queste le speranze” from Axur, re d’Ormus which means Axur, king of Ormus. Here is a link to a full rendition of the aria on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NvsX8NG-VRY The soprano in this clip is not as good as the one in the movie, but it does show that this is the same aria or song. The piece in the movie is at the end. The words–in Italian–are listed under “more info” on the YouTube page. This was indeed a famous opera and aria in its day; according to Wikipedia, Axur, re d’Ormus was even more popular than Don Giovanni although Don Giovanni was released first.
