What is Safety Town?
Safety Town is a week-long day camp for Children Ages 4-6. West Linn-Wilsonville Community Services has provided this training since the summer of 2005. Through this program many children have learned about safety and many student volunteers along with community professionals from local organizations have dedicated their time to keeping kids safe. Safety is everybodys business. Accidents are the leading cause of death and injury among children. Many of these can be avoided when children are trained to recognize and respond appropriately to dangerous situations. Thats why West Linn-Wilsonville Community Services provides Safety Town each summer in July. In the summer of 2009, Safety Town will be held again in July. In June of 2009, Safety Town will open in Wilsonville – provided by Community Services. The West Linn Safety Town will be provided by the City of West Linn.
