What is Ryan White CARE Act?
The Ryan White CARE Act is Federal legislation that addresses the unmet health needs of persons living with HIV by funding primary health care and support services. The Ryan White CARE Act was name after Ryan White, an Indiana teenager whose courageous struggle with HIV/AIDS and against AIDS-related discrimination helped educate the nation. 4. How does MMP work? First, providers who care for patients with HIV/AIDS are randomly selected and invited to participate; then, the patients of participating providers are randomly chosen to be a part of MMP. Each year, a different group of patients and providers will be asked to take part. The information collected will be more useful if as many of the selected patients as possible participate in MMP. 5. How will the results of MMP be used? The information learned through MMP will help show how care is affecting the health of people living with HIV in communities. The data from the project will be used by HIV prevention community planning groups
