What is Rugby?
What is rugby…such a complicated, yet simple question. Rugby is, in the most simple explanation, something like soccer and football combined, however, in getting more in depth, is very different from both. Rugby is a game, typically played with 15 players from each team on the field at one time (there’s other forms of rugby like 7s, nevermind that now). Rugby has the constant game play as in soccer, as well as some kicking (it is not the main form of ball movement in the game, though). It has a sort of basic gist of football, the ball is larger though, more rounded and doesnt have laces. There is no forward passing in rugby (only backwards or it is a penelty) and passes are generally thrown across the body, not in one arm like a football is thrown. Rugby uses no padding or protection, aside from a mouthgard (and perhaps a scrumcap). Rugby has several different aspects to the game, such as line outs and scrums.
