Ans:The word rudraksha, in fact, comes from the two Sanskrit words rudra, a synonym for Lord Shiva, and aksha, meaning “eyes”. The botanical name of the Rudraksha plant is ‘ELAEOCARPUS GRANITRUS’.These trees grow in very few places in the world including the peaks of Himalayas of India and Nepal. The Rudraksha beads contain Carbon,Hydrogen,Nitrogen,Oxygen and trace elements in combined form.The percentage compositions of their gaseous elements was determined by C-H-N analyzer and by Gas chromotography.The resuls shows that Rudraksha beads consists of 50.031% Carbon, 0.95% of Nitrogen,17.897% Hydrogen and 30.53% Oxygen.
