What is rounding applied to? How does TAMS round the total time?
The rounding is applied to the total minutes in access to hours per period. A period starts when the employee clocks in and ends when the employee clocks out within a workday. For example, if the employee clocked in at 7:55 AM and clocked out at 12:03 PM, then the total time worked is 4 hours and 8 minutes. The rounding is applied to the 8 minutes. TAMS version 2.6.3 and below rounds the total minutes according the 4 rounding values you set up in the Company Setup form. Using the example above, if you set up the 5 to 15 minutes to round up to 10 minutes then the 8 minutes will be rounded to 10. TAMS version 2.6.4 has only one rounding value of the total minutes. Allowing you to turn rounding off by entering a 0 for the rounding value. Again using the example above, if you set up the rounding value to 5 then the total access of 8 minutes will be rounded to 10 minutes.
