What is RosettaNet and why did PTC become a RosettaNet solutions partner?
RosettaNet is a self-funded, non-profit organization. It is a consortium of major information technology, electronic components and semiconductor manufacturing companies working to create and implement industry-wide, open e-business process standards. These standards form a common e-business language, aligning processes between supply chain partners on a global basis. PTC became a RosettaNet solutions partner because establishing a common language — or standard processes for the electronic sharing of business information — opens the lines of communication and enables collaboration between trading partners in a supply chain. By offering tools and services to help implement RosettaNet processes, PTC helps its customers gain exposure and business relationships through processes that are more collaborative. RosettaNet helps PTC by providing “a standard language” that allows multiple parties to share relevant information.
