What is ROPES?

ROPES, an acronym for “Rite of Passage Experiences”, is an optional, district-wide program for fourth grade students as well as middle school students. Participants select from suggested “challenges” and spend a number of months developing a project, which may take the form of written work, art, music, graphics, dance, or dramatic interpretation. The culmination of the experience is the presentation of the project to a panel of adults from the community. Information regarding the ROPES program is usually distributed to eligible student during the winter months.
