What is rolled gold & gold filled?
This is a wonderful product which is 1/20th gold that has been bonded to brass and will retain the gold for a lifetime. It can be manipulated and soldered just like gold and silver. It is more expensive to purchase than sterling because of the quantity of gold. Gold plate is 1/100,000th gold which is just on the surface and comes off easily. Gold vermeil is sterling silver which also has a gold coating and loses the gold colour readily. Hence, I use the rolled gold and gold filled for longevity and beauty, but also to keep the price down in comparison to gold.
