What is Roaming SMTP?
SMTP or Simple Mail Transfer Protocol, is required by most (but not all) e-mail software to send e-mail messages across the Internet. That’s why you need to specify both the incoming POP3 server and the outgoing server, the SMTP server, when you set up your e-mail accounts. eCenica operate an improved SMTP service, commonly referred to as ‘Roaming SMTP’. Roaming SMTP allows you to send e-mails using SMTP, regardless of the type of internet connection or ISP you are using at the time. This is achieved by running our SMTP services on multiple ports, so even if your ISP blocks access to Port 25 (the default SMTP port), you will still be able to send mail.
