Ripple rejection is the change in output voltage due to a small signal change in the input voltage, usually expressed in mV/V or dB. It is often improved by the use of an input capacitor with low series resistance (ESR) at the ripple frequency. For many low-dropout linear regulators, it is also improved by the use of a larger output capacitor with low ESR.
