What is ReXX?
ReXX is the first rent-based index in the property derivatives market and provides a “bottom up” view for evaluating commercial real estate performance. The index represents nearly two trillion dollars in value and almost two billion square feet in fifteen individual metro markets. The ReXX Commercial Property Index tracks the return on commercial real estate based on lease transaction prices, asking rents, the effective Fed Funds rate and the Consumer Price Index (CPI). The ReXX approach is to identify changes in valuation of commercial real estate from current macro- and microeconomic market conditions when they occur, as opposed to lagging appraisal-based or transaction-based indices. When ReXX Index returns are benchmarked against other measures of commercial real estate performance, the ReXX Index proves to be the leading reference point to current market conditions.
