What is Revit software?
Revit software is a relatively new computer-aided drafting (CAD) system developed by Autodesk which is becoming increasingly popular in the industry. Revit applications uses three-dimensional, real-time, dynamic building modeling software to increase productivity in building design. This process produces a Building Information Model (BIM), which encompasses building geometry, spatial relationships, geographic information, and quantities and properties of building components. In this way, Revit applications produce a smart building model where a change anywhere is a change everywhere, instantly, with no user interaction to manually update any view. A BIM model may contain the building’s full life cycle, from concept to construction to decommissioning. Revit Architecture also provides the ability to do quick takeoffs on materials within the structure.
