What is reuse water?
Reuse, also known as reclaimed, recycled, or repurified, is the term applied to the beneficial use of water after it has been treated in state-of-the-art wastewater treatment plants. Essentially, the water is separated from organisms and impurities that would be harmful to humans, other living creatures or the environment. This water can be safely reused for a variety of purposes, all but direct human consumption, e.g. irrigation and landscaping. Reclaiming water for other uses has been going on since the 1930s but really expanded in the 1980s and 1990s as the demand for water created stresses on limited water supplies across the country.
