What is ResNet?
ResNet (short for Residential Network) is a direct Ethernet connection in a residence hall room. The connection allows a student to connect to OSU’s network and the Internet at much higher speeds than traditional modem connections. Each room has enough connections for every student, and does not require the use of a phone line. For complete ResNet information, go to http://www.resnet.ohio-state.
ResNet is Cornell University’s broadband residential Internet (Ethernet) service. It provides dedicated, wired Internet connectivity to the university residence halls, as well as some graduate residences, Greek houses, and co-operative residences. These network connections provide connectivity to Cornell’s Wide Area Network (WAN) and the Internet.
Residential Network (ResNet) provides on-campus residents with direct connections to the campus network and the world-spanning Internet via two Ethernet connections in each residence hall room. Every resident can have their personal computer connected directly to UNLV’s ResNet for Internet web browsing, email, and other activities.
ResNet is a service that allows you to connect your personal computer to the campus network using an industry standard 10/100 switched Ethernet connection. The service also provides a shared connection to the Internet and is the service used by most students living in the residence halls and university-operated apartments. The ResNet bandwidth limit is currently 5GB up and 5GB down for each ResNet subscriber for any given 24 hour period of time. Visit My.ResNet and the My.
