What Is Required To Earn An FAA Private Pilot Certificate?

In general you need to be at least 17 years old and to complete a ground school program (such as ours), pass the FAA written exam, possess at least a Third Class medical certificate from an FAA designated Aviation Medical Examiner, complete at least 40 hours of flight instruction, and pass your check ride with a Designated Examiner or FAA representative.
