What is required to become an IPAF instructor?
To become an IPAF instructor, you must meet the following criteria: • 36 months MEWP operating experience • IPAF operator licence held for 6 months minimum • IPAF demonstrator licence held for 3 months minimum • Evidence of acceptable instructional techniques training (5 days minimum) • Successful completion of an approved harness instructor course • Evidence of IPAF MEWP-specific instructor training and assessment – (to include IPAF MEWPs for Managers course and second senior instructor present for the final day and test – 5 days minimum) • Evidence of first aid training to Appointed Persons levelOnce you have done the 5-day IPAF assessment and passed, you need to be employed by an IPAF training centre or become an independent instructor member of IPAF. You will then receive training material from IPAF and can deliver IPAF training.
