What is required to be eligible for base load generation?
It is necessary to have electric and gas meters that are in the name of the applicant/owner. Sufficient indoor or outdoor space is required to accommodate the generator and auxiliary equipment. An ideal location is a facility where heat from the generator can be utilized for heating and cooling or for process heat. A great location would be a warehouse, industrial park, manufacturing facility, a school or university, office building or any other commercial facility which has direct access to electrical distribution lines and uses a substantial amount of energy. Any site with a combined annual energy usage of over $200,000 per year would be a candidate for a cogeneration plant, whereas, most any large electric customer would be a potential site for emergency generator.
