What is required prior to requesting funding?
Prior to requesting funding for planning assistance, a school needs to have an established SRTS committee that includes people committed to making the program a success on a continual basis. An estimate needs to be done to determine how much assistance is needed for the creation of the SRTS plan. Before requesting funding for SRTS projects and activities, the school needs to create a SRTS plan and get the plan approved by the Safe Routes to School coordinator.
