What is required of participants in the ACS Initiative?
To participate in Transport Canada’s ACS Initiative, air cargo supply chain companies must document and implement security procedures that contain required elements specified by Transport Canada. Companies will be recognized as ACS Initiative participants based on Transport Canada’s acceptance of their security plans and each company’s agreement to permit security inspections. Participants must also agree to the publication of their names so that other participants in the air cargo supply chain, including Canadian and foreign governments, can recognize them as meeting air cargo security standards. Because goods handled by participants will be recognized as secure with little need to apply additional measures, the goods shipped by participants will move through the supply chain more quickly.
