What is required in order to obtain a Street & Sidewalk Excavation permit?
Certificate of Insurance – Public liability insurance in the amount of not less than One Million ($1,000,000) for any one person and not less than Two Million ($2,000,000) for any one accident and property damage insurance not less than Five Hundred Thousand ($500,000) for any one accident and Five Hundred Thousand ($500,000) in the aggregate. The Town must be named as an additional insured. Plans – The applicant is required to provide the Highway Department with a copy of plans outlining the proposed excavation. A detailed sketch showing exact footage to be excavated may be substituted for work pertaining to sanitary sewer connection and driveway widening. Performance Security – Prior to the issuance of a permit for excavation of a roadway, sidewalk or Town right-of-way a bond or certified check in the amount of $1,750.00 payable to the Town of Eastchester must be submitted.
