What is required for OSI license approval?
A license qualifies for OSI approval if it conforms to the OSI’s “Open Source Definition” or “OSD.” The OSD covers nine topics of concern. Chief among these is the requirement that a license not restrict any party from selling or giving away the software. Further, the Program must include source code, must allow distribution in source code as well as compiled form, and must allow modifications and derived works.
