Generators and occupations with exposure to infectious substances and materials must have an Exposure Control Plan (regulations) that is required by the Occupational Safety & Health Administration. In addition, generators are also required to have a written Biomedical Waste Management Plan per Connecticut General Statutes 22a-209-15 (b) (3)&/or (f) (8). These procedures can be appended to the Exposure Control Plan.
