What is required for an abandonment of easement?
You need to contact a licensed surveyor to do a legal description and drawing of the easement, and they must stamp and sign it. You must also file a petition requesting the abandonment of easement; you can download the Petition form from the Policies/ Procedures page. An abandonment of easement requires two public hearings, one with the Planning Commission and one with the Board of County Commissioners, the final decision coming from the County Commissioners.
