What is required by the Zoning Division to open a business in Falls Church?
Before a property can be occupied by a business, an Occupancy Permit must be obtained from the Department of Environmental Services. A review is conducted by the Building Official, Fire Marshall, and the Zoning Division. Zoning will verify that the intended business use is allowed in that Zoning District. A review of required parking is also done. Uses that are not allowed by Code or that cannot provide the minimal required parking spaces will be denied by the Zoning Administrator.
