What is required as a foundation for the Gazebo?
A. Please remember that you should check with your local building inspector in order to ensure that you are aware of any local building codes that may apply to the gazebo you have planned. The most common foundation option is a base of gravel or crushed stone three to four inches deep, assuming that the ground is level or close to level (within 1″ to 2″). If the ground has been excavated, or fill dirt has been added, ensure that the ground under the gazebo is stable (tamped) before adding the gravel. A concrete slab can be poured as a foundation under your gazebo, but this is usually suggested only if you intend to use your gazebo for a hot tub. Installation of your gazebo on a slope will require posts (6X6, concrete block, or sona tube) as well as a framework underneath the gazebo.
