What is Renaissance?
At the beginning of the school year, each student in grades 5-8 will be given a picture identification card that he or she is expected to keep up with on a daily basis. At the end of each nine-week grading period, the cards will be taken up and redistributed with punches. There are four possible punches available. One is for A honor roll. Another is for A/B honor roll. The third one is for improvement if a student has gone up in any subject from the previous grading period. This is as long as he or she has not gone down in any subject or received an F. The last punch is for attendance. This one is by far the most difficult to get. Students receive this punch if he or she has no more than three attendance occurances. The occurances have to be excused with a doctors note. An occurance is an absence, a tardy, or even an early pickup. When in doubt, bring a note.
