Region 2 DVD’s are designed for use in the UK, any DVD Player purchased from a UK electrical store will be compatible with Region 2 DVD’s. What is NTSC and PAL? NTSC is the television system used in the USA, Canada, Japan, Mexico, Philippines, South Korea & Taiwan, whilst PAL is the television system the UK & most of Europe uses. DVD’s that feature NTSC are most likely Region 1 DVD’s, whilst DVD’s that state PAL will be Region 2 compatible DVD’s. Can I watch Region 1 DVD’s in the UK? To watch DVDs that are Region 1 in the UK you will need a multi-region DVD Player, to check if you’re DVD Player is multi-region look out for a small globe icon with a number 1 on the front of the unit itself, this means that the player will be compatible with Region 1 DVD’s. It’s worth checking the manual as well as some players won’t feature this information on the unit itself. The majority of DVD Players sold in the UK are Region 2, however you’ll find that many can be unlocked using a set code to play
