What is refractive laser eye surgery?
LASIK (Laser Assisted in Situ Keratomileusis) and PRK (Photorefractive Keratectomy) use a precise laser light to reshape the cornea, the clear tissue at the front of the eye, so that light rays can more precisely focus on the retina in the back of the eye. There are many different modifications of these procedures including LASEK, Custom Laser, Femtosecond or Intralase (no blade LASIK), and the use of intraoperative mitomycin-C all of which will be considered by Dr. Terraciano and Dr. Yang if necessary.
