What is recycling exactly?
As well as the things mentioned, the breaking down of component materials to be re used or re-rendered, there is also secondary recycling, where a product after it’s original purpose is reused in another fashion for example, a freezer unit that breaks down, drill holes in the base and it becomes a superbly insulated and dry compost box, something that is often done in Finland etc because of the snow.
Recycling is when you use a product, such as something in a plastic, or paper, or glass or metal… and you “recycle” it so companies can use your garbage to make something else with it rather than have it sit in a dumping ground and never decompose and harm the environment and take up landfill space.
Recycling became law in 1970 when the EPA passed the Resource Recovery Act. At the time it was not about reducing what went to the landfill, it was about not allowing a valuable resource to be buried and taken out of the supply stream. Still today we can easily recycle aver 60% of what goes to the landfill. Paper, glass and metals are all easy to re-pulp or melt down and use again. Plastics are a whole other issue, they are toxic to make and toxic to recycle.
recycling, means to return the used thing into the cycle of use. in other word, recycling is to separate and re-use the materials we have. unfortunately, the natural resources are low or they’ll finish someday, hopefully, most of the materials we use can be used over and over. Petroleum products (PPT, PE4, etc..), glass, paper and so are recyclable.
