What is Reception & Classification (R&C)?

0

The Reception & Classification Center is located at the Central Mississippi Correction Facility (CMCF). R&C is the first stop for most new inmates sentenced to MDOC custody. The inmate is classified for behavior level and assessed for treatment needs. This initial classification process takes about 30 days. Once classified, inmates may transfer to another facility within the MDOC system. Click on Offender Services (Initial Class) for more information about the initial classification process.
