What is rec.music.makers.trumpet and its history?
With encouragement from David A. Roth and Ellis L. Workman, Mark Van Cleave in November 19, 1994 begin the proposal process for a USENET unmoderated Trumpet newsgroup by the name of rec.music.makers.trumpet. The proposal was posted for RFD (Request For Discussion). After discussion rec.music.makers.trumpet as proposed was voted on by USENET users. There were 318 YES votes and 21 NO votes, for a total of 339 valid votes. There were 3 abstains. For group passage, YES votes must be at least 2/3 of all valid (YES and NO) votes. There also must be at least 100 more YES votes than NO votes. There is a five day discussion period after these results are posted.
