What is Rebuilding TogetherSavannah?
Rebuilding Together-Savannah preserves and revitalizes houses and communities, assuring that low-income homeowners, particularly those who are elderly and disabled and families with children live in warmth, safety and independence. RT-Savannah is a local affiliate of the national organization, Rebuilding Together, headquartered in Washington, DC. In 2006, Rebuilding Together nationally mobilized 267,000 volunteers donating their time and skills to rehabilitate 8,900 houses and non-profit facilities. This will bring the organizations cumulative impact to 100,000 plus houses and non-profit facilities repaired by more than 3 million volunteers. The first project in Savannah in 1997 rehabilitated seven homes, and as of 2007, we have rehabilitated over 170 homes in the Savannah/Chatham area with an equivalent local impact of more than one million dollars!
