What is rebatching?

0

Rebatching is where you use an existing batch of CP soap, or if you purchase special “rebatch base” from a soap supply store and grate it down, remelt it and create a new, different soap. It is synonymous with “hand-milled.” Rebatching is great for soap that didn’t turn out quite how you planned; color, scent, texture, what-have-you, and not have it go to waste! It is also a great way to add herbs and essential oils and “preserve their healing properties.” Rebatched or hand-milled soap has a very distinctive bumpy texture that some find unappealing and others find earthy and pleasant.
