What is really measured by Cellvizio?
Cellvizio measures luminescence from tissues using a highly sensitive photo-detector. This measurement is converted into digital grey levels. But the amount of light on the detector depends on the properties of the tissue, its physical interface with the ProFlex flexible imaging microprobe, the ProFlex type, the Laser Scanning Unit (LSU), and on the cleanliness of the ProFlex. Furthermore, for most fluorophores, the measurement is proportional to the local concentration of the fluorophore, unless saturation of the fluorophore has been reached.
