What is READ Foundation and why does whyzz contribute money to them?
The Reading Excellence and Discovery (READ) Foundation was established in 1999 to address the high proportion of low-income students demonstrating below grade level reading skills. READ employs one-on-one research-based reading instruction to prepare at-risk children to become proficient readers. READ recruits, trains and employs teens to teach reading skills to young children who are struggling with learning to read. To encourage our users to contribute content frequently, whyzz makes a $2 donation to READ for every article our users submit which we publish on the site! As a website that supports children’s education, whyzz believes that READ Foundation is the perfect match for our Giving Program! To learn more about READ, please visit their website at readnyc.org .
